Present: Mr C Field (Chairman), Mrs D Kennedy, Mrs C Ranjbar, Mrs D Pound, Mr A Harland and Mr D Pound. Clerk (Mr J Paul).
1 Apologies for absence. Received and accepted from Mrs E Smart, Mrs T Tull, and Mr C Bond.
2 Minutes of the planning meeting held 6 August 2008. Mrs Pound proposed, Mr Pound seconded and all agreed that the minutes should be signed as a true record.

Demolition of single storey side extension and erect two storey side extension.
Rear dormers and front porch.
PC decision; no objection.

The Granary, Mill Lane
To erect a flood wall at the front of the property. To build a single storey extension to rear. Change of use to convert one garage to office with door to store, and incorporating shower room.
PC decisions (unanimous).
1. Object to height of flood wall, 1m high considered too intrusive to the appearance of the building and at that height is not a ‘dwarf wall’ as quoted in prior correspondence with CDC.
2. No objection to single storey extension.
3. No objection to conversion of garage.

7 Appeal
7.1 Windward Nursery, Chalk Lane. Changed notification, comments to be submitted before 25 September (was 28 August). Inspector will conduct a hearing (was exchange of written statements).
PC agreed the Clerk should write supporting the District Council decision and against the appeal.
7.2 Hope Villa, Mill Lane. Appeal against enforcement notice on installed wind turbine following planning refusal before installation. Clerk to write supporting the District Council decision / enforcement and against the appeal (closing date 23 September 2008). The appeal is to be decided on the basis of an exchange of written statements by the appellant and the Council and a site visit by a DCLG Inspector.
8 AOB.
8.1 Hedge cutting. The hedges along Paddock Straight are neatly cut and compliment the extra mowing of the grass. Clerk to write to all relevant householders to thank them.
8.2 Police car drivers appear to be using the two tone sirens excessively through Sidlesham, causing distress to residents. The ambulances and fire service vehicles are more moderate. The PC asked that the Clerk write to the police requesting officers to use the sirens more considerately.
