MINUTES. Planning Committee Meeting. 13 October 2008

Present: Mr C Field (Chairman), Mrs D Pound, Mrs E Smart, Mrs P Tull, Mr A Harland, Mr C Bond and Mr D Pound. Clerk (Mr J Paul).
Also present one member of the public.
1 Apologies for absence. Mrs D Kennedy, Mrs C Ranjbar.
2 Minutes of the planning meeting held 17 September 2008 Mrs Tull proposed, Mr Harland seconded and all agreed that the minutes should be signed as a true record.
3 Matters arising from the above minutes. None
4 Declarations by Councillors. Mr Bond declared his position for item 5.1 as next door neighbour; the Councillors agreed he could abstain from any vote.
5 New Applications for discussion.

The Granary, Mill Lane.
To erect a flood wall at the front of the property. To build a single storey extension to rear. Change of use to convert one garage to office with door to store, and incorporating shower room. (Note; Plan changes from original application only involve changes of proposed flood wall).
Parish Council decision; no objection but response letter to emphasise lower window sills to be visible above wall.

7 AOB.
7.1 Parking, light, noise and extractor smells from Crab and Lobster PH. Complaint from an occupant of a house on the quay concerning lack of activity by District and County Councils. The member of the public present was asked to speak. He said it was not a complaint; he wanted to know the progress of the matters with CDC. Mrs Tull agreed to obtain information.
7.2 CDC Community Action Chest. A new funding initiative for groups. The Clerk agreed to put details on the PC notice boards and website www.sidlesham.org and to forward information to the PCC for the Magazine.
7.3 Volunteers to assist with SID use. Many of the PC agreed to help when required.
7.4 SID (mobile) possible roadside sites. The Clerk had been unsuccessful in obtaining the STAG list of suggested sites. Mr Field and Mr Pound agreed to liaise on a mapped list of possible sites in Sidlesham.
7.5 With great regret the Parish Council acknowledged the death of a motorist on 5 October at the B2145 bend at the top of Mill Lane. Full details of the crash into the brick wall were not yet known.
7.6 Pagham Harbour Local Nature Reserve Advisory Board. The term of office of the PC representative, Mrs Smart, was complete. Mr Field thanked Mrs Smart for her work on behalf of the PC. The Parish Council then agreed unanimously that Mrs Smart should be re-elected. The Clerk to inform WSCC.
7.7 Pot-hole. A break in the B2145 surface was reported at the west edge of the road a few metres north of Lockgate Road junction. Clerk to report to WSCC Highways; also to ask if any general repairs were planned for the B2145 in Sidlesham.
